Many people find themselves stuck on 6 or 6.5 in IELTS Writing. Why?
It all comes down to the marking criteria. In other words, if you’re not scoring band 7, it means you‘re not meeting the criteria for band 7 in one or more areas. IELTS examiners give you four separate scores for your Task 1 and 2 so, if you score 7 in three criteria but 6 in one of them, your score works out to be 6.5.
What can you do about it?
In this short video, Alex (one of our IELTS experts) explains one of the reasons many candidates do not score band 7 in their Task 2. Watch as she shows you some simple ways to improve your score in the Coherence & Cohesion criterion.
